An Epidemic Of Loneliness

Loneliness is a feeling of depression when you are all by yourself or left out. When you have feelings of rejection from friends who don’t want you. Making new friends becomes harder, and you become distressed. Having No friends can cause us to suffer from health issues and also die early. Lonely people slip into unhealthy habits. Social network connections everybody posts pictures about enjoying their time with friends. Looking at others happy with friends makes us miss being with friends even more. Younger people are at more risk of being lonely. Scientists say, just like hunger is the reason why animals hunt for food, loneliness forces us to seek friends. Being around friends helps reduce our stress. Isolating us from friends would make us cry more. The author’s point, “As we gain the freedom to become whatever we want to be, we’ve lost the sense of belonging.” Is very true and caught my attention. Feeling that you belong is the most important thing in life, just like food and hunger. You can feel connected and happy. You feel like nothing you do matters which can cause stress at any period in time. Social Media nowadays makes people that think that you don’t have to talk to make friends. But loneliness can cause many health problems. So people think that loneliness is produced by the certain behaviors they have. When being lonely people feel like they are in two types of worlds one reality and one is not reality. The real-world causes people stress and their mind thinks that loneliness is a good thing. Social media can make things worse with loneliness. In this world, we get stress which causes thoughts in our heads.

The author said that loneliness is not good or bad. Being loneliness is kind of makes you better because you start questioning everything. We have eventually learned from our mistakes. Sometimes you have good and bad days which causes you to start disliking yourself. It just makes your life feel lonely and you make bad decisions. Younger people are friends which makes them feel lonely. It also affects the way you view others. Depression can cause people to feel like nobody is really supporting them.
